Hello Readers! Welcome to the Den of the Cu Sith!
For a first I want to thank you, the reader, for taking a moment to check out the blog and seeing what this page is about. The Cu Sith is a Dagorhir group in the Southern states (Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas) who come together for weekend events and who enjoy camping and fighting with foam swords and shields.
Secondly, you're probably wondering what the heck Dagorhir is, and why all the foam weapons. Is it something like a Live Action Role Play (LARP)? In some ways yes and in other ways no. But if you have a deep fascination with movies like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Kingdom of Heaven, the Lord of the Rings trilogy (or as of recently The Hobbit trilogy), or any of the television series like Game of Thrones or Vikings, and if you really want to experience the thrill of battle, this is what you need to know about what Dagorhir is.
First, Dagorhir is a sporting event that is usually concentrated by fighters to demonstrate close combat skills using foam weapons, such as swords, shields, spears, glaives, bows and arrows, and even "rocks" (no, not the stone stuff you see around your environment. Using those can cause very severe damage. Please refrain from using in practices and in events! - A.N.). The weapons are classified depending on the rules and regulations of Dagorhir combat. For deeper details, check out this link http://www.dagorhir.com/index.php/4-weapons
Dagorhir can be created if you can gather enough people who have the same interests as you and who have the heart (and half a mind) to put themselves into combative situations. You may be able to find local Dagorhir groups, called "Units" within your area. If the Dagorhir group you look for have a specific location that they practice at, they call that area "The Realm". Usually they have a way to tell the difference between identifying their unit and their realm by wearing belt flags or, in other circumstances, by the designs on their shields.
Dagorhir fighters like to give themselves aliases to separate who they are in the Dag Realm from who they are as everyday individuals. For example, I go by the alias Anaiyu the Frozen because of who my "persona" is: a white, winged Cu Sith.
